Introduction

Tainan is the oldest city in Taiwan. In its processes of development into a modern city, Tainan has kept its traditional culture, arts, crafts, and architecture. The unique cultural and visual experience available in Tainan offers very rich potential and assets for film production. The goal of which The Culture Bureau of Tainan City Government hosts the“39 Hours of Tainan”filming contest is to encourage filmmakers to explore the inspiration provided by Tainan, by giving filmmakers a place and opportunities for interaction with other filmmakers, to increase the support of filmmaking in Tainan, and to promote Tainan to become the creative center of art, film, and tourism. Welcome enthusiastic and passionate filmmakers to participate in the”39 Hours of Tainan”filming contest and to compete for the "Gold Tainan" award. The winner will receive a cash award and be invited to one of the world largest film festival, the “International Short Film Festival Berlin”, become an international filmmaker!

 


Goals

1. Provide an international exchange platform for filmmakers, and encourage the development and content of the Taiwan film industry.
2. Promote the art of film, build alliances with renowned international film festivals
